Stable Housing
Our goal is to create an environment where veterans can focus on rebuilding their lives, increasing independence, and preparing for long-term housing stability.
Support for Veterans
A network of housing, employment, benefits, and community resources designed to help veterans move toward greater stability and independence.
Transportation & Access
Getting to the right place can make all the difference. We help veterans with transportation to job interviews, VA appointments, community resource offices, and other important destinations so they can access the assistance they need.
Care & Support
Support may include assistance with food, clothing, transportation, employment resources, veteran benefits, mental health resources, and other community services.
BUILDING A LEGACY—ONE HOME AT A TIME
Legacy Veterans Home is working in the Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor, Michigan, areas to create its first safe, stable residence for veterans experiencing homelessness or housing instability. Our initial goal is to lease and prepare a home that can serve approximately 2–6 veterans in a respectful, community-centered environment. A dependable place to live provides more than shelter. It gives veterans the stability and breathing room needed to focus on employment, benefits, personal goals, stronger relationships, and long-term independence.
Safe Housing
Create a clean, affordable, and welcoming place veterans can call home.
Practical Support
Help residents identify and connect with food, transportation, employment, education, VA benefits, and other community resources.
Dignity and Independence
Encourage personal responsibility while treating every resident with respect.
Local Community Connection
Develop partnerships with businesses, veteran organizations, volunteers, service providers, and community leaders throughout the Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor areas.
WHERE WE ARE TODAY
Focused on serving veterans in the Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor communities.
Developing our first veterans home.
Planning an initial capacity of approximately 2–6 residents.
Building relationships with local donors, volunteers, and community partners.
Gathering the funding, furnishings, supplies, and resources needed to open the home responsibly.
OUR LONG-TERM VISION
The first home is only the beginning. Our long-term vision is to grow within the greater Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor community and eventually develop a Veteran Wellness Village with additional housing, shared community spaces, and opportunities that support stability, purpose, connection, and independence.
HELP BUILD THE FIRST HOME
We invite individuals, businesses, veteran organizations, and community partners throughout Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor to help bring this first home to life. Contributions may support property expenses, furnishings, household essentials, food and basic needs, transportation, resident support, and future development. A legacy is not only what we leave behind—it is what we help others build.
